...After almost 8 years (shy 3 months) I find myself on the verge of being single again...
My 'partner' ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=88.8) tuc1 has decided that he wants to move out and explore other options. I had thought that our relationship was strong enough that he could explore and play with others while being in a stable situation. Guess I was wrong.
Its hard for me to know what I am feeling at the moment... Am just kind of numb.
Not knowing whats going to happen sucks. |

Finally after a lot of years of thinking about it, I finally bought Gus a nice cat-tree to play with. Not sure why it took me 10 years to finally do it but its done. It was custom made by a friend at the local Pet Supply Store on Commercial Drive and was #63 The Jaguars Perch in the catalogue... now officially, The Gus Perch!

He still hasn't quite mastered getting off of the thing yet though, jumps from the perch to the couch (about a 3ft drop) and it sounds like it hurts. Getting on he is still a little hesitant, but once he's up there he is the "Cat of the World". Just don't walk by to close to him, he cannot resist a triumphant swat to the top of your head as you go by!! (ouch claws!) |

Although the calendar tells me its spring and the flowers are coming up and trees are bloomin' up a storm... the air has that October feel to it.

A close encounter with a skunk the other day, left our cat, Asparagus, (or just Gus) smelling a little funky...
With no real "skunk" shampoo, had to improvise. Tried a small amount of sunlight dish detergent first (anitbacterial yah know), but it didn't work to well. So, used some of our "fine hair" Garnier shampoo. Worked a little better.
When he dried, he was all fluffy and soft, but still smelled a little like skunk, and Garnier shampoo (fresh, clean and... Skunky!) Hence we have been calling him Skunky Garnier for the last couple of days!

I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed how those people that drive BMWs or Mercedes Benz always seem to be the worst people on the road? Never signaling, cutting people off, speeding, tailgating... Assholes most of them.
Kinda always wondered to myself what would happen if 2 of those drivers should somehow confront each other, what the end result would be..
Wonder no more, today I witnessed first hand what would happen, and its so funny I almost died laughing.
One Mercedes Bendz was coming out of an alley, trying to turn left onto a busy road, of course, he was not signaling and he was in the middle of alley blocking it completely. Then along comes BMW wanting to turn left into that same alley, there is a car parked semi obsuctivly blocking the view for both cars to see each other. Mr. BMW is not signaling either, just turning left without notice, comes within feet of a head on collision with Mercedes. The both hit the brakes, not moving. For a full 20 seconds they do nothing but look at each other. Mercedes, for the first time in his life (I would imagine) discovers the signal light and actually turns it on! (??) For another 10 seconds both cars just sit there and stare at each other, each waiting for the other to move out of the way. Of course, neither of them do as its not in their nature to do that. In unison, both cars eaze off the brakes and start towards each other, coming within a foot of hitting each other. I shake my head in disbelief, are these two jerks actually going to have a head on collision because neither one of them are willing to show the slightest bit of couresty? heh heh.
By now, traffic is backed up on both sides of the road, and another car is behind Mercedes in the alley.
Another 30 seconds (which I am sure was an enterinty for those in the cars) goes by, and now BMW turns on his signal light... I almost passed out, you mean these cards actually have a signal light control? I always thought it was an option that they never purchased as it must of been to expesive for them and would explain why you never see these drivers using them... So now we have BMW and Mercedes a foot apart from each other and both with their signal lights blinking (which also must have been a strain on the cars operation, as I am sure the electriacal system was never designed to work with a signal light on) and a full minute has passed in total.
Finally, in what could only be described as a very brave and selfless act, Mr. Mercedes actually put his car in reverse, backed up a couple feet, and turned onto the road leaving enough room for BMW to get into the alley and come face to face with the other car, which was also blocking the alley as he had been trying to get around Mercedes... I didn't stay to watch the rest of it, as I know that poor Honda was no match for the BMW, even with the signal light still working. |
